Chicago’s Western Suburbs Welcome 2 U-Haul Self-Storage Facilities

ELGIN, Ill. (Jan. 10, 2017) — U-Haul is serving customers at two new self-storage locations in Chicago’s western suburbs.

U-Haul Storage of East Elgin at 796 Bluff City Blvd. in Elgin and U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Streamwood at 529 E. Lake St. in Streamwood are now open and offering truck and trailer rentals, moving supplies, self-storage and more.

“We have a huge customer base in this area and, before acquiring these facilities, it was being served by our neighborhood dealers,” U-Haul Company of Chicago Western Suburbs president Angela Farley said. “Now customers have additional moving and self-storage options at U-Haul-owned and -operated locations.”

Between the two facilities, customers have access to 389 new self-storage units featuring state-of-the-art security options. Individually alarmed rooms are coming soon.

U-Haul Storage of East Elgin, previously a Stor-More® facility, now offers U-Haul Remote 24/7® access for customer convenience and is operated remotely by the South Streamwood location, previously a Chicagoland Self-Storage facility.

Contact U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Streamwood at (630) 483-0609 or stop by to visit general manager Darien Harris and his team. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Reserve equipment at uhaul.com or contact Reservations at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.

“I am so excited to provide convenient U-Haul facilities to residents here so they can utilize all of our services without having to travel to other communities,” Farley said. “As an added bonus, we are able to keep building materials out of landfills by reusing these old self-storage facilities.”

The recent acquisition these facilities was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul® supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
