U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free U-Box Container Storage to Flood Victims

Disaster relief available through the Visalia store while vacancy lasts

FRESNO, Calif. (March 14, 2023) — U-Haul® is making its Company store in Visalia available to provide 30 days of free U-Box® container usage to San Joaquin Valley residents who have sustained flood damage and require assistance in the recovery process.

Heavy rains from the latest weather system to pummel California have caused flooding and extensive home damage in Woodlake and many surrounding communities.

“Dry and secure storage options are always in demand after natural disasters, and we are in a fortunate position to help,” said Chris Weersing, U-Haul Company of Fresno president. “Our team is ready to assist any of our neighbors who can use U-Box containers to store belongings for one month at no cost.”

U-Box containers provide 257 cubic feet of storage and one-ton capacity (2,000 pounds). This generous space enables furniture, boxes and other belongings from up to one-and-a-half rooms, on average, to be shipped and stored safely inside each container. Customers can order as many U-Box containers as they need and only pay for what they use.
